Parenting In Islamic Way
One of the biggest blessings for a kid is a proper upbringing. Growing a child is not a piece of cake, especially nowadays. Parents have to face a lot of challenges to fulfill this responsibility. To raise a pious child, parents find themselves entirely in a problematic situation if he doesn't have any proper knowledge about Islam. Islam has provided good guidelines to help parents raise kids according to Islamic values.
Keep in mind that Islamic parenting is a demanding full-time job. It would be ideal if you were always in the driving seat. You are on duty every day, every hour, every minute, and even every second. There are no vacation days or holidays. Just be sure to keep enjoying it. Plan your thoughts accordingly so that you can enjoy every moment of your responsibility as a PARENT. Your children are a gift from Allah, and He will inquire of you regarding how you brought them up. It will not be beneficial in this world or the afterlife if they are not raised in an Islamic manner as a result of your neglect.
To make it easy for parents, we have mentioned some essential principles which make them productive parents.
Principle 1: Children are born pure
“No child is born except on al-fitra (Islam or primordial human nature) and then his parents make him Jewish, Christian, or Magian, as an animal produces a perfect young animal: do you see any part of its body amputated?” [Sahih Muslim]
As it is clearly mentioned in the above hadith each child is heavily influenced by society. If this child is nurtured in a society where all values are followed properly, people are loved and given respect then this child will also start giving respect and love. He will mold himself according to society. So a big responsibility lies on parents where they are nurturing their kids. Kids mostly imitate their parents so parents should take care of how they talk and behave with other people.
